Kids No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu

A faster kids grappling class: wrestling, judo, and body control, without the gi.

See the schedule

Kids No-Gi is for children 4 and up who want a quicker grappling class, whether they are new or already training in the gi. Warm-ups build agility. The rest of the hour is takedowns, transitions, and submissions, with wrestling and judo mixed in.

Without a collar to hold, kids learn to control a partner with position and timing. Coaches come from both gi and no-gi, and the standard is the same as the rest of the gym: discipline, teamwork, and respect.

Questions

How is this different from Kids BJJ?+

No gi. Grips, control, and movement come from timing and the body, not from the jacket.

What should my child wear?+

A rash guard and athletic shorts or spats.

Is it safe for beginners?+

Yes. Classes are grouped by age and experience, and the drills are supervised.

Does it count toward rank?+

Yes. No-gi training counts toward BJJ progression in the youth curriculum.

Can kids train both?+

Yes. The two styles make a more complete game.

How often?+

Two or three sessions a week.

Excellent gym! Stopped in to train while traveling. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. The 6:30 BJJ class was great and challenging. Will definitely stop in again, the next time I’m in Atlanta. Highly recommended for those that live in the area or visiting.

One of the best gyms I have ever been to. ATT Atlanta has an awesome facility and great instructors. I have been training in mixed martial arts for about 7 years and jiu-jitsu for about 9 years and I have had the luxury of training all over the country, so that is saying a lot. I myself am a gym owner in northern Alabama and count myself lucky to be close enough to soak up some of that knowledge.

After moving to Atlanta, I searched for a new Jiu Jitsu home. I’ve had a wonderful experience training with ATT and I have been impressed with the professionalism, the organization, class beginning on time, the cleanliness, and friendliness. Being a female who trains in a male dominated sport, it can be very intimidating to walk into a new gym and not know what to expect. ATT has been a comforting experience where I feel at home.
