ATT Atlanta’s MMA room is where beginners and active fighters train next to each other. The coaching staff has competed at the highest level and still teaches the first jab, the first shot, and the first round of sparring.

Professional fighters use the gym as a base when they are in Atlanta. The same coaches run the all-levels class.

Questions

What happens in a first MMA class?+

Striking, grappling, and conditioning. You learn basic technique, drill it, and get coached on form.

What do I wear?+

Shorts or leggings and a shirt that breathes. Bring hand wraps, gloves, and a mouthguard if you have them. Loaner gear is available for the first few classes.

How long is class?+

Usually 60 to 90 minutes: warm-up, technique, partner drills, optional live sparring, and conditioning.

How often should I train?+

Most beginners start at two or three sessions a week. Add days as recovery and skill catch up.

How long does MMA take to learn?+

Basic skills come quickly. Getting proficient is years of work, and mastery does not have a finish line.

Excellent gym! Stopped in to train while traveling. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. The 6:30 BJJ class was great and challenging. Will definitely stop in again, the next time I’m in Atlanta. Highly recommended for those that live in the area or visiting.

One of the best gyms I have ever been to. ATT Atlanta has an awesome facility and great instructors. I have been training in mixed martial arts for about 7 years and jiu-jitsu for about 9 years and I have had the luxury of training all over the country, so that is saying a lot. I myself am a gym owner in northern Alabama and count myself lucky to be close enough to soak up some of that knowledge.

After moving to Atlanta, I searched for a new Jiu Jitsu home. I’ve had a wonderful experience training with ATT and I have been impressed with the professionalism, the organization, class beginning on time, the cleanliness, and friendliness. Being a female who trains in a male dominated sport, it can be very intimidating to walk into a new gym and not know what to expect. ATT has been a comforting experience where I feel at home.
